Blissfully happy!

Today was our 16 week appointment. We weren't suppose to have an ultrasound today but I thought what was the harm in asking. :)

I asked and of course the Doctor said, You want to see your baby? Of course you want to see your baby....he disappeared & moments later brought in the portable sonogram machine. (Or whatever it's called) - In seconds we were watching our precious baby sitting perfectly still facing to the right except for his/her right hand punching the air - as if in time to some music she/he has heard. The left hand just resting comfortably on his/her head. What's more amazing about this - when Brett is excited about something or acting like he's "dancing" to a song he'll pump his fist in the air! Identical to what our baby was doing! Hmmmm - like daddy like baby??- The most incredible sight in the world was seeing our baby open her/his hand to show off the fingers & thumb - it was so crystal clear. My heart was racing & flowing with abundant, unconditional love! It never felt so real - I've thought I've felt maybe a "roll" here & there when it felt like my stomach was turning upside down but haven't felt much else - so to see this completely made it real! The Doctor said baby has a very strong & healthy heart! All appears to be good.

Thank you Lord for this unexpected blessing today. Our hearts are filled with thankfulness and happiness and we owe that all to you. You have blessed our lives with more than we can possibly thank you for.

To my baby boy or baby girl, thank you for being a part of our lives. We saw you today and our hearts are overjoyed and overflowing with love & excitement. You certainly surprised us with your "dancing" since your daddy does the same moves. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us - in a few more weeks we'll get to see you again except this time for a little bit longer. Stay strong & healthy our baby.....we love you, we pray for you daily, and we can't wait to meet you!!

"The Prayer"

I'm sure you've noticed by now this song is first on my play list. This was the song Brett & I exited to - our first song as husband & wife. I love, love, love this song.

I am going to play it over & over for our baby to hear now & when he/she is born.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Belly pics @ 14.5 weeks!

My blessings in disguise

14.5 weeks preggo! Wheww! The good, the bad & the ugly all come with that wheww!

First let me say my complaints are not really complaints but as I like to say little blessings in a clever disguise. Let me explain.

The constant view of the bottom of my toilet - Doc says this means it's a healthy pregnancy - hence blessing in disguise!

Anything remotely sounding like food, has me hurling whatever meal I barely stomached - Maybe I won't be a big fat preggo lady - hence blessing in disguise :) - Get the picture?

I am very grateful to have all of these symptoms - good or bad - because that means I am still preggo!

My predictions as of now are that we are having a baby girl - because of all the nonsense old wives tales I seem to be following. However, I have selfishly prayed for a baby boy for my husband who I know is secretly wishing & praying for....although he says with a smile, he will love him or her just the same. :) Of course he will, but I think all men want boys first??

Stay tuned - while I won't bore you with every minute details, I may bore you with hour by hour :) - Just kidding!

I am more than blessed to even have this opportunity to carry this precious soul that God has given me for His safe keeping. I pray I will meet his expectations & exceed those of my own.

To my baby girl or baby boy - Thank you for allowing me to watch over you for His safekeeping. I pray that a hedge be placed about you even now - that you will be strong & have great courage against any obstacles in your way. I love you baby boy or baby girl - and so does He!
